computer is really screwed. usually the elder sis should be the one who is supposed to be IT savvy, no? ah its the opposite case now.
was sick yesterday. mum brought dad to the doctor too so i was left alone at home. sis went pasir ris. wanted to buy bread. ended up buying:
double melt subway
white chocolate chip cookie
lemon barley
redbean banana roll
came home to do homework, which needless to say, its screwed.
mum came home with chicken rice and six cheesecakes. ate two.
ah she says i look scrawny all over again. cos i told her i didnt get to eat much during the camp. but i think it is because i am much much darker now. er sunburnt to be exact. you know how people look scrawnier with darker skin.
touch young arrows camp was fun. great fun. love the kids. ah i miss them. cant wait for next saturday to get the pictures. hmm. actually i am really thankful for this camp. before this, half the reason why i was helping out at children's club was to chalk up hours for nyaa. now. i found the meaning. thank goodness =)
platoon four's kids were probably one of the naughtiest i suppose as compared to kids from artillery and infantry whom i observed to be super well behaved.. lol.. but yea i agree that kids are meant to be mischievous. yep. it was great fun looking after them. i must say i m starting to talk like them after a few days. lol the commando cheer is lame. haha. fly kites fly kites all the rest can go fly kites. but super adorable. haha.
songyang. yangzhi.thaulath. tanima. tricia. beeyen. owen. zachery. andre. choonxiang. sarah. siti. baoru
--- thirteen wonderful kids.
i realise that there are really loads to learn from the kids. they speak the truth the whole time. i was jokingly asking yangzhi why doesnt he remembers me since he is from yishun children's club too. then he told me that it was because i didnt go there often enough for him to remember me. yep. after that i was thinking. with kids, it is commitment. if you want to help them enough. you've got to put in enough effort. well. that 'make an impact' thing is probably overrated. im not sure if i have. but i ll try my best to go to all children's club meeting from now on. yep.
also there was the bukit timah hike. for us it was rather tiring, but still managable. but for the kids it was kind of gruelling i think. i was just thinking. if ..if.. if i wasnt with the kids. but with 409, i would have probably be complaining halfway up the hike. like how tiring it was. how strong the sun is. however. it was because of the kids. that i grew stronger. we, as facils could not be waiting for others to encourage us. we must encourage them. so i am thankful of the experience.
another thing is. that we dont need alot actually. i normally eat five or six meals a day. but during the four days. i ate less than one proper meal. not that touch young arrows didnt provide enough lar.. but we didnt have time. lol. i could still remember isabel and i sharing a can of tuna. and i dont even eat tuna in the first place. well. that set me thinking. it is not by what you have to sustain you. but rather what you have to do to motivate you. for me, it was the kids. yea. i learnt this during new zealand adventure camp last year too. but this time it was from a different perspective.
talk about perspective. taking care of the kids, actually help me understand the teachers better. believe it or not. remember not long ago lsc'07 we were swopping rooms like crazy and many ended up getting scolded by the teachers? and also we were constantly reminded to wear school t-shirts? yea. cliche it may be. but its for our own good. rules are rules. rules are not meant to be broken. (i know this doesnt really sound like me) because the kids wore yellow coloured t-shirts that we were able to differentiate them from the rest of the crowds in bkt timah. such rules are to help in facilitating the program and at the end of the day, make the camp more enjoyable for everyone. yea silly it may sound. but its just what i think. hmm.
today is friday. probably going dancing. oh and during the campfire there was this cool hip hop dance performance. think about sophh's face ;D
hmm something random. i miss my primary school.
another random thing. i feel thirsty.
